Employability
The unemployment rate among youth graduates in Palestine remains alarmingly high, with about 47% of youth graduates (ages 19-29) being unemployed. The disparity between the West Bank and other areas is significant, with 32% of youth in the West Bank unemployed, compared to a higher rate in other regions. Additionally, female participation in the workforce is notably lower than male participation, with the unemployment rate among women reaching 40%, compared to 21% for men.
CYEE is committed to addressing these disparities by equipping young Palestinians, particularly women and at-risk youth, with essential skills to thrive in the job market. Through vocational training programs, career counseling, and partnerships with the public and private sectors, including the Ministry of Education, we aim to reduce unemployment and ensure youth are better prepared for sustainable employment. With a focus on tailoring interventions for young mothers, school dropouts, and vulnerable youth, we help bridge the gap between education and employment opportunities.
